So we've all heard of Anthropologie right? Only one of the most aesthetically pleasing stores in the world. Now picture Anthro in your head, and then turn that image into a restaurant. The restaurant image you have in your head is The Butcher's Daughter in Venice, CA. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are in a different world, and on top of that, you automatically feel just a little bit cooler.
I found this restaurant while searching for "the best avocado toast places of LA." I want to say it was number eight on the list, but regardless of the ranking, I will most definitely be returning. Ironically enough I did not try the avo toast while I was there, because it is only served on the brunch menu. (Oh well...I'll just have to go back!) What I did have though was amazing and simple. It was amazingly simple.
We started with an appetizer of truffle mac n cheese, and let me just say WOW. So. Good. I am a little biased towards this cheesy pasta, as probably half of my childhood was spent eating it, but trust me when I say you HAVE to try it here. For my entree I had a kale salad and added a farm egg. The dressing on the salad was so light and fresh, and there was a hint of something that I couldn't quite but my finger on, but whatever it was I approve. The farm egg was just the cherry on top..literally. When you broke into the egg, it just drizzled down into the salad and all the flavors mixed together and just yes.
If it wasn't obvious already, this is a place I will DEFinitely be returning to..probably within the next month. If you haven't already, you should check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
