5 Occasions When It's OK to be Basic

Basic. A term that has become associated with a negative connotation. Today I'm talking about a different type of basic. I am going to show you five of my favorite basics - clothing pieces that is.

My first favorite is the Joplin Relaxed Tee from Reformation. I have this exact tee in red pictured below, and I absolutely adore it. It is probably the softest shirt in my closet, and I cannot wait to transition it into my fall wardrobe.

Next, I love the look of a blazer with light wash denim and a white t-shirt tucked in with some mules or even booties. I think it adds to the look even more if you get the blazer oversized so you can just throw it over your shoulders for a chic dinner with the girls.

A solid pair of booties is also a must. I am a firm believer that booties are a year round fashion statement. After living in Los Angeles for the past four years, it was even easier to wear them every day since it never really got too too hot.

A few years ago, I never would have told you I loved jeans. I was all about dresses and skirts. Recently though, I have rediscovered my love for jeans. These are one of my favorite pairs because they are super flattering and the leg is actually a great length for tall girls like myself.

Lastly, I am a sucker for coats. This shearling style coat has been on my radar since I was in London in March 2017, but I still haven’t gotten myself one! Maybe this season will be the time. I love the AllSaints one, but there are definitely more affordable options out there!

The Ref Sale

Ok so we all know the Nordstrom Sale is all of the hype, but I'm here to talk about something else. Lets talk about the REF SALE. Is it just me or does Reformation never have sales? I love their clothes, but I am not always down to spend a ton of money on all of their pieces. Here are some of their pieces I will definitely maybe be treating myself to this week..

First off is the Maine Dress, and I am getting major grandpa vibes. For some reason though, I love it.

Next are these Hepburn Jeans. I love the color because they are dark but not too black. I also love where they hit on the ankle.

The Elyse Dress is so much fun. It is summery, but if you wanted to wear it in the fall you could throw a sweater on top or a denim jacket. I absolutely love the stars.

This TOP. I think it is so simple but so stunning. It has a very flattering neckline plus it comes in more colors!

Is the leopard/cheetah print trend out? Either way I'm wearing this dress. It is so fun and can be dressed up or down depending on occasion.

The Luca Dress is so simple but so cute. The bell sleeves add an extra detail and the hem makes it unique as well. It is not your typical black dress.

Bodysuits are a staple for any season, and Reformation has a reputation of having really great ones. I love the neckline on this one and can see myself wearing it with skirts and jeans all year.

To be quite honest, I could be happy wearing only Reformation for the rest of my life. For now I guess I will start with these pieces. What are you snatching up from the sale?? Leave a comment below!
